You might wonder: Is a charcuterie board the same as a cutting board? Well, I’ll tell you. A cutting board can double as a charcuterie board, but not all charcuterie boards can be used as a cutting board.
Charcuterie boards are intended to be beautiful (not scratched up by knife blades), they can have sections that would make using it as a cutting board difficult. Some charcuterie boards can even be engraved and personalized.

Charcuterie Board Care
Keep in mind once you own a gorgeous charcuterie board, you need to care for it to keep it beautiful. You should not wash them in the dishwasher. Just wipe them clean with water and a clean cloth.
You will also need to oil it with a food grade cutting board oil every five washes or so to preserve the wood. Once you have oiled the board, wipe off any excess oil and allow it to air dry. Be sure to let it dry completely before putting it in the cabinet.
I hope you become as obsessed with creating charcuterie boards as I am…because I will probably write about them again. I can’t help myself! My daughter’s wedding reception is in a couple of weeks and I will be doing a bunch of boards then. Pictures to come!
See you next time!
