Don’t you just love it when you come up with those tips (social media says I should use the word hack here, but I really hate that word so I do so reluctantly!) that make your life easier?  I am all for things being easy!  Whether it is a new appliance, cleaning idea, kitchen gadget, or…well…a kitchen hack.  I just love it when I find something that makes less work for me, that’s for sure!  Well, I am going to share with you my #1 favorite kitchen tip … bake your bacon!.I have done this for years and I don’t honestly remember where I picked it up exactly, but it saves me lots of time.   Read on to find out how I do it with easy clean up!

My family loves bacon and so do I…along with eggs from our backyard chickens, on a BLT sandwich, or on pizza (I’ll get to that in a minute!).  I really hate…I’m using the word hate here…frying bacon.  I don’t like having to stand there babysitting it on the stove top and I don’t like the grease splattering all over the place.  Yuck.

How To Bake Your Bacon…Best Kitchen Hack Ever!

I simply place a cooling rack on a cookie sheet, spray it with cooking spray, put the bacon strips on it (see previous picture),and put it in the oven.  Using the cooling rack makes for easy clean up!   In my oven it takes about 20 minutes to cook the bacon to crispy status (which is how we like it), but I recommend checking it every ten minutes and when it is close to done check it more frequently.  My oven cooks everything faster than the recipes say, so yours may take a bit longer.

Easy peasy, right?  Worth having to use the word “hack” a bunch of times.  You can thank me later 😉
