Right now I have a surplus of crookneck squash from our garden, so I’m making some grilled squash to go with BLT’s for dinner tonight. We are getting LOTS of squash from our garden lately and this is one of my favorite recipes to use it. It is so easy!
You can even cook your meat and your squash at the same time. You don’t have to run back and forth between the grill and the oven to check whatever else you might be cooking. It’s all right there on your grill!
Bonus – you don’t have to heat up your kitchen cooking it inside AND no pot to wash! (Psstt…for your convenience I have included affiliate links to some great products I think that you will love!)
Grilled Squash
- To make this yummy squash on the grill, all you have to do is rinse off the squash in the sink…
- Then slice it into bite-sized chunks and slide them on barbecue skewers.
- Once the squash has cooked and softened a little, I like to grind a little salt and black pepper and sprinkle them on it. Once the squash is as tender as you like it, use a grill tongs or oven mitt to remove it from the grill. The skewers will be hot!
This is an unbelievably quick to make side dish that gives big payback in taste! Grilled squash goes great with grilled meat or as a side for pasta or whatever. Use your imagination and give it a try! (Keep in mind that for this post I used crookneck squash, but you could use zucchini or other squash, too!) Once you are done grilling, sit down on the patio and enjoy!
