Frozen S’mores Ice Cream Dessert Recipe

Sharing is caring!

Now that summer is almost here, camping and s’mores are on my mind. When it comes to delicious recipes, this frozen smores dessert recipe is one that you definitely want to try! It has all of the delicious flavors of graham crackers, chocolate, and marshmallow in a cold dessert for those hot summer nights!

S’mores Dessert Recipe

Ingredients:

  • Graham crackers, divided
  • 1/2 gallon chocolate ice cream, softened
  • 1 jar of marshmallow cream
  • 1 jar of hot fudge
  • 1 cup mini marshmallows
  • Grated chocolate (garnish)

This smores dessert recipe is not time-consuming in terms of prep time in which you have to actually be doing something, but you will need to freeze it between layers, so including freeze time, you will want to give yourself five or six hours to make it. You will also want to factor in the time needed to soften the ice cream before making the dessert, so I like to make it a day before I plan to serve it.

To get started you will need to soften the chocolate ice cream.

In a large bowl, mix the softened half-gallon of chocolate ice cream and the marshmallow cream.

Finely crush the graham crackers. Once you have done that, set aside about three tablespoons of crushed graham crackers for garnish.

Sprinkle the rest of the graham crackers all over the bottom of a 9 x 13 baking pan.

The next layer of the dessert is the chocolate ice cream mixture. Gently spread half of it all around over the top of the graham cracker crust. Once you have done that, put it in the freezer to firm up.

Once the ice cream layer mixture has firmed up, you are ready for the hot fudge layer. Take the lid off of the hot fudge bottle and place it in the microwave. Heat it for about sixty seconds, then stir it with a butter knife. Spoon the hot fudge sauce onto the frozen ice cream layer and spread it around. You will want to do this quickly so that the hot fudge doesn’t melt the ice cream and turn it into a mess.

Place the dessert in the freezer for about an hour.

Once the hot fudge layer has cooled and firmed, sprinkle the mini marshmallows on top.

Pour the rest of the ice cream mixture on top of the mini marshmallow layer and spread it around until it is smooth.

Garnish the smores dessert with remaining crushed graham crackers and grated Hershey’s chocolate bar, then freeze it again.

Your smores dessert is ready to serve! Enjoy!
