Caramel Apple Dessert Turnover Ingredients:

Puff pastry sheets

Apple pie filling (I used some I had canned a while ago, but you can use store-bought, too!)

Caramel candy (Kraft or similar)

Chocolate syrup

Caramel syrup

Caramel Apple Dessert Turnover Directions:

First, you will want to defrost the puff pastry a bit.  You want it to be defrosted enough to fold over without breaking.  Once it has softened enough to do that, you are ready to throw them together.

For each rectangular piece of puff pastry (I used 1/3 of a sheet), cover slightly less than half of the puff pastry segment with apple pie filling, leaving the edges clear so that they can be sealed together.

Slice some caramels (Kraft or similar) in half and place them on top of the apple pie filling.  Dip your fingers in water and wet the edges of half of the puff pastry (helps the puff pastry seal better when you fold it over and press it together).

Fold the puff pastry dough over the filling, then press the edges together to seal it.

Place the caramel apple dessert turnovers in a Pyrex baking dish or on a cookie sheet that has been sprayed with cooking spray.  Bake them in the oven at 350 for 20 minutes or until golden brown.

Once they have finished baking, place the turnovers on dessert plates, then drizzle with caramel and chocolate sauces.

They are also yummy served with whipped topping or a scoop of vanilla ice cream!  It’s like caramel apple pie for one 🙂
