How to Freeze Corn on the Cob

Have you grown corn on the cob in your garden and can’t eat it all quickly enough?  Let me show you how to freeze corn on the cob so that it stays fresh for when you are ready to eat it! 

I grew up in Iowa, which is kind of famous for its amazing corn.  When I was a kid, every summer I looked forward to fresh corn on the cob.  As an adult, it is no different.  I still love a buttery, salt-and-peppery piece of corn on the cob! 

If you love corn on the cob like me, you need to learn how to freeze corn on the cob.  That way you can enjoy it all year long!  Listen up-this is one of the easiest food preservation tips I’ve got!

To keep the corn on the cob fresh, I strongly recommend vacuum-sealing the corn before you freeze it.  Vacuum sealing reduces the risk of freezer burn.  Don’t have a vacuum sealer?  Click the button below!

First, you shuck the corn and pull off the corn silk (the little “hairs” on the corn).

Some say that you need to parboil the corn on the cob before bagging it, but that isn’t necessary.  You can just place the shucked corn on the cob into the vacuum seal bag.

Once the corn is vacuum-sealed, just toss it in the freezer until you are ready to eat it!

When you are ready to eat the corn on the cob, just remove it from the vacuum seal bag and place in a pot of boiling water and cook in the usual fashion.
