Before we get on to the party, did you have a nice Independence Day? Mine was…hmmm…not sure how to describe it. We had a very enjoyable barbecue over at my in-law’s home. That’s pretty common for us to do on summer holidays, then we usually do a few fireworks after. The fireworks this year were kind of a bust. Our little person was SO cranky. After maybe four or five meltdowns and only TWO sparklers and one noisy thing that didn’t even do anything pretty when it went off we said hasta la vista and took the kiddo home. Yikes. We saw some fireworks in the sky around the Salt Lake Valley as we drove home (about a mile). That is it. Fortunately for us, Pioneer Day (yes, that’s a Utah holiday) is right around the corner. That is a good thing because then we can actually USE the fireworks that my hubby bought.
